Attorney Nikki Velisaris Lykos focuses her practice on employment law and employment litigation. She regularly represents individuals in litigation involving age, gender, race and disability, discrimination and retaliation, as well as claims under the Family Medical Leave Act and Equal Pay Act. Nikki also advises individuals and closely held and family-owned businesses on all aspects of the employment relationship, including employment agreements, non-competition agreements and drafting and implementing employment policies and handbooks.
With a strong background in finance, journalism, and business, Nikki brings a well-rounded approach to legal advocacy, ensuring clients receive strategic and comprehensive representation. She ensures that her clients receive practical solutions tailored to their unique needs. Her commitment to thorough case analysis and personalized guidance allows her to confidently assist clients by navigating complex employment matters.
Nikki earned a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in Journalism from Penn State University before obtaining an MBA and J.D. from Duquesne University. She is a regular speaker for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, has lectured on employment law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and serves as a mediator for the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Nikki is a Fellow in the Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County and is recognized by nationally accredited institutions like The Best Lawyers in America®, Super Lawyers, and Martindale-Hubbell® for her excellence in the legal field. In addition to her practice, Nikki is actively involved in professional organizations, including the Allegheny County Bar Association, where she served as Chair of the Labor Employment Section, the National Employment Lawyers Association (NELA), and the Western Pennsylvania Employment Lawyers Association (WPELA).
